Installation of Stefan Knapp
In 2022 the Museum acquired some of Stefan Knapp's dazzling enamel, which were ordered in 1960 and were presented as a mural in Alexandra's flagship store until 1998. In a city associated with a constantly changing panorama of glass and steel, the installation refers to the ways in which companies try to distinguish through architecture, design and public art, as you can see in the Chrysler building or Apple store. The museum installed the largest preserved part of Knapp's work on its southern terrace, honoring Knapp's original intention to create public art. The new installation will be available from October 11, 2023. The museum is grateful to Barbara Jakobson for the visionary transfer of these iconic enamels to our collection.
